Weekly roundup

This week we have learned:

Phonics: the sounds that the letters ‘i’ ‘n’ ‘m’ and ‘d’ make and practising the same high frequency sight words: I, go, to and the

Maths: matching numeral to quantity (for eg counting out 5 objects and finding the numeral 5 on the number line). Today we learned a new Kagan structure called Quiz Quiz trade – ask your child to tell you all about it!

Topic: similarities and differences within our families. Thanks a lot for sending in your family photographs, it has promoted plenty of discussion. If you still haven’t sent one in, please do as the children adore having them up on the wall and enjoy pointing them out to their RCR classmates as well as their peers in RGJ and RLD. The photographs also make for a more homely feel in our role play area!

Next week we are going to be focusing on the story ‘The Three Little Pigs’ and discussing the similarities and differences within our own homes. To support this, we would like some props to support the storytelling and ask if you could pick up some sticks during any walks you go on over the weekend. If anyone has a bit of hay to spare, that would be great, too! If you can please bring them in on Monday.

Thank you and have a lovely weekend.
